Voice InputlOutput Systems for Indian Languages
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper an overview of problems and prospects of voice input/output to a computer are discussed. Current attempts to provide speech input/output facilities to a computer are described. The scope of speech recognition problem is defined. Issues involved in the design of text-to-speech and speech-to-text systems are discussed. Since any sophisticated voice input/output system uses several language speclfic features, a case is made for a different approach for designing these systems for Indian languages.

متن کاملOn minimal realization of IF-languages: A categorical approach
he purpose of this work is to introduce and study the concept of minimal deterministic automaton with IF-outputs which realizes the given IF-language. Among two methods for construction of such automaton presented here, one is based on Myhill-Nerode's theory while the other is based on derivatives of the given IF-language. Meanwhile, the categories of deterministic automata with IF-outputs and ...
متن کاملCross-lingual voice conversion-based polyglot speech synthesizer for indian languages
A polyglot speech synthesizer, synthesizes speech for any given monolingual or multilingual text, in a single speaker’s voice. In this regard, a polyglot speech corpus is required. It is difficult to find a speaker proficient in multiple languages. Therefore, in the current work, by exploiting the acoustic similarity of phonemes across Indian languages, a polyglot speech corpus is obtained for ...
متن کاملUse of Part Of Speech (POS) and morphological information for resolving Multiple Pronunciations in Pronunciation Lexicon Specification (PLS) for Indian Languages – Bengali as a Case Study
Pronunciation dictionary is one of the important components for the speech technology development for a particular language. This is because it represents the interface between speech analysis on the acoustic level and speech interpretation. The W3C Voice Browser Activity has published a Pronunciation Lexicon Specification (PLS) Version 1.0 [1] for generation of PLS in different languages. This...
متن کاملOpen-Source Consumer-Grade Indic Text To Speech
Open-source text-to-speech (TTS) software has enabled the development of voices in multiple languages, including many high-resource languages, such as English and European languages. However, building voices for low-resource languages is still challenging. We describe the development of TTS systems for 12 Indian languages using the Festvox framework, for which we developed a common frontend for...
